Evolution is a wonderful thing.

I have always been a massive fan of Evolution, and I owe it a huge debt of gratitude. Research suggests that I descend from a long line of evolvers, some of which were squirrels and lemurs and that I even have a tiny percentage of mushroom in me, but that branch of the family goes back an exceedingly long way.

Survival of the fittest?

Although survival of the fittest is essentially the creator of all things good, there is one species unable to make the most of it, a fact which runs contrary to what you might expect. It is of course, Man. If the word fit is replaced with the word macho, it turns out that machismo is actually a force for disharmony and negativity. It is generally accepted that those who puff out their chest and roar loudest are the ones who manage to pass on their DNA, but that only increases the population of loud roarers, an attribute not particularly beneficial to a thinking rational species.

The marvels of modern society.

Generally speaking, a society will be restricted by its lowest common denominator, and while the human race has produced a few individuals capable of splitting the atom, landing craft on other planets and being Michael Bublé, much of the populous is only interested in eating poor quality food as long as it is cheap and easy, shagging anything that stays still long enough (as long as it is cheap and easy) and checking Facebook.

The big question. Will we ever find intelligent life on earth?

With the inability of homo sapiens to carry out even the simplest of tasks, such as: filling the office dishwasher, refraining from feeding the seagulls when the sign says not to, and avoiding pissing on the floor when aiming at an enormous bowl, how can we consider mankind to be anywhere near the top of the evolutionary tree?
It is a subject that fascinates me, amuses me and infuriates me, and one I will undoubtedly revisit.

I am not sure there is a definitive answer to the question, ‘Do you think we will ever find intelligent life on earth?’

What do you think?
